Drafts and publishing

Teach Sudwire

Bin a draft with a reason, or say what to do differently, and the next drafts follow it.

Every draft's page in your dashboard has a Teach Sudwire card. What you tell it applies to that site only, and everything Sudwire learns from it is listed in Settings, where you can remove any of it.

Bin a draft and say why

Pick a reason, then press Bin this draft. A draft that hasn't gone to WordPress yet never will. One that's already there moves to the Bin in WordPress within a few minutes, with plugin 0.6.0 or later (with older versions, delete it there yourself). Binning in WordPress works too: the Posts screen asks why straight away, and the draft's page in the dashboard asks Why was it binned?

Say what to do differently

Write a note under What should Sudwire do differently next time?, for example "Shorter headlines" or "We don't cover sports". To keep the draft, press Keep it, send the note. Sudwire turns the note into one rule for the site's next drafts, in the language you wrote it in, and shows it on the draft's page after Learned:. A note about only that draft, like a single typo, doesn't make a rule.

Rules never override accuracy: Sudwire still never invents facts, copies the source or calls anyone guilty before a conviction.

See and remove what it learned

In your site's Settings, Learned from your editors lists the writing rules, the rules about which stories to pick, and the stories binned as not for you. Press Remove or Forget on anything you don't want. On Pro and Agency a site keeps up to 20 rules, otherwise 5. A new rule replaces the oldest.

Sources your editors keep binning

When editors bin at least 3 of a source's drafts in 30 days as not for you, and at least half of them, its card on Sources says so. Sudwire never turns a source off by itself: that's your call.

Editors and the account owner can teach Sudwire, up to 40 times a day per site. Viewers see what it learned.
