Troubleshooting
WordPress plugin not seen
The WordPress card says Not seen yet or Not connected, or drafts aren't reaching WordPress.
On your site's Settings, the WordPress card shows one of these:
| Card says | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not connected | No key yet. Install the plugin and press Connect with Sudwire (see Connect WordPress). |
| Not seen yet | A key exists (the card shows its last four characters), but no WordPress has used it yet. |
| Not confirmed | The plugin is in touch but your site isn't confirmed yet (see Site not confirmed). |
| Connected | Everything works. |
If it says Not seen yet
- In WordPress, open Plugins and check Sudwire Newsroom is active.
- Open Newsroom. If it doesn't say Connected, press Connect with Sudwire, or paste the whole key (it starts with
swn_). - Press Check now and read the message on the Newsroom screen.
Messages on the Newsroom screen
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| The connection key is not valid. Create a new one in your Sudwire Newsroom dashboard. | The key was replaced, or copied incompletely. Press Connect with Sudwire, or replace the key and paste the new one. |
| Could not reach Sudwire Newsroom: … | Your server couldn't connect to app.sudwire.com. Some hosts and security plugins block outgoing connections: ask your host to allow https requests to that address. |
| This connection key belongs to … | See Key used on another site. |
| Too many requests. Try again in a minute. | Wait a minute, then press Check now. |
Drafts reach WordPress late
The plugin runs on WordPress's scheduled tasks, which only run when someone visits the site. See Review drafts in WordPress for a cron job that fixes it. Check now collects drafts at once.
We email you if the plugin hasn't checked in a day after a key was made, and if a connected WordPress stops checking in for two days.
