Getting started
Connect Ghost
Send drafts straight to your Ghost site with an Admin API key, with no plugin to install.
Sudwire sends drafts straight to Ghost through its Admin API, so there's nothing to install. It works with Ghost(Pro) and with self-hosted Ghost 5 or newer on https.
Create a custom integration in Ghost
- Open Ghost Admin (
yoursite.com/ghost) and sign in as an Administrator. Only Administrators can add integrations. - Go to Settings, Integrations and press Add custom integration. Name it Sudwire Newsroom and press Add.
- Keep the page open. You need the Admin API key and the API URL. The Content API key won't work, because it can only read.
Connect it to Sudwire
- In your dashboard, open your site and go to Settings. If your site was added as WordPress, open Use Ghost instead. If the Ghost card doesn't show the boxes, open Change the API URL or key.
- Paste the API URL and the Admin API key and press Connect Ghost. Sudwire checks them with Ghost before saving.
Sudwire also checks that Ghost runs at your site's own address, which confirms that you run the site. Make sure yoursite.com/ghost opens your Ghost Admin. If it can't confirm, the Ghost card says so, and drafts wait until it can.
Connecting finishes the setup: a site with sources and a running trial or plan switches on. Editors and the account owner can connect Ghost.
Change the key, or go back to WordPress
- To change the API URL or key, open Change the API URL or key on the Ghost card. Leaving the key empty keeps the saved one, as long as the address stays on the same host. A new address needs the key again.
- To use the WordPress plugin instead, press Disconnect Ghost. New drafts then wait for the plugin.
Next: Review drafts in Ghost. If something goes wrong, see Ghost errors.
