Drafts and publishing

Morning briefing

A daily post rounding up the stories your site published in the last 24 hours, each linked to its page.

On Pro and Agency, Sudwire can write a short morning briefing every day: an opening line or two, then the stories your site published in the last 24 hours, the most important first, each with a sentence and a link to its page. Readers get the day at a glance, and every story gets another way in.

Turn it on

In your site's Settings, under Morning briefing, tick Write a morning briefing every day and choose the time, from 05:00 to 12:00 in your site's time zone (07:00 to start with).

What's in it

  • Up to 10 stories that went out on your site in the last 24 hours: ones your editors published, or that were published automatically. Drafts still waiting aren't in it.
  • The headlines and summaries are your own articles' words. Only the briefing's title and opening are written fresh, in your site's language.
  • The photo of the top story, with its credit.
  • On days when fewer than 3 stories went out, there's no briefing, and the Activity list on the Today page says so.

The briefing arrives like any other draft: waiting for review, or published straight away if the site publishes automatically. It doesn't count toward your articles a day.
