Coverage and priorities
Tell Sudwire what your site covers and what matters most, so it scores stories the way your editors would.
Scout fills these in when you first talk to it. You can change them any time in your site's Settings, on the Coverage and priorities card.
- What the site covers: the place or topic, like “Brisbane and Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia”.
- Site name: how your site is named on the dashboard and in emails.
- Priorities, most important first: numbered lines, like “1. Our town: almost everything residents need to know. 2. The wider region: only notable stories. 3. National: only major stories.”
- Language and Time zone (see Language and time zone).
- House style, on Pro, Agency and Enterprise: short rules applied to every article, like “British spelling” or “no Oxford comma”.
Without priorities, Sudwire puts stories from your area that residents need first, then major national stories that affect your readers, and everything else low.
Coverage steers the writing too: articles say exactly where things happen when the source does, and explain what a wider story means for local readers when the source allows.
